Copenhagen and Mobile Tickets – A Perfect Match

Copenhagen 04/02/2013

1.9 million people in the greater Copenhagen area; over 10 million tickets sold.

With the passing of another year and the launch of our new website, we thought it was a suitable time to look back on our mobile ticketing figures for Copenhagen.

While Copenhagen – Denmark – is probably better known for its design and LEGO, mobile ticketing is coming up fast behind them. There may only be a total of around 1.9 million people in greater Copenhagen, but the numbers show that Danes really love their mobile tickets.

Our mobile ticketing products have around 900,000 unique users registered in the greater Copenhagen area, 900,000 users who have put over 10 million mobile tickets through our gateway in 2012 alone.

That’s a lot of time saved for end users, a lot of money saved for the transportation companies, and a lot of paper saved for the environment.

It was in 2009 that we launched our first mobile ticketing solution. Since then, we’ve helped create ticketing products based on SMS, apps and the mobile web, and expanded payment channels to include phone bills, credit/debit cards, and Mobilpenge (Mobile Money – link your mobile phone to your online banking and pay with your mobile). Our mobile ticketing products are being used worldwide, in countries such as Sweden, Finland Switzerland, and the US, and this is just the beginning.

Mobile tickets show no sign of stopping – whether you’re talking Denmark or the rest of the world. We can’t wait to see what 2013 brings.
