New framework agreement provides new opportunities

New opportunities have arisen for sales of services on the mobile phone after the mobile operators in June agreed on a new framework agreement for mobile content- and payment services. Among the most important changes is that the amount limit has been raised. Unwire CEO Peter Bredgaard considers the agreement to be a step in the right direction.

The new framework agreement between the mobile operators makes it possible for the Danes to buy new types of goods and services via the mobile phone in the future. The amount limit for mobile services has been raised and this creates new opportunities for the suppliers of content.

”It is positive that the amount limit for sales of mobile services has been raised. The market development is met which is headed for a growing demand for mobile services”, Unwire CEO Peter Bredgaard says.

From DKK 75 to DKK 150
The previous framework agreement of the trade had a very low limit of only DKK 75 for mobile services. Now however, it is possible to deliver services like E.g. music or ringing tones directly to the mobile phone at up to DKK 150.00 and up to DKK 200.00 monthly for subscription services.

Furthermore, it is made possible to sell goods and services like e.g. tickets up to DKK 225.00 for each good or service. When it comes to services aimed at children and young people, the amount limit remains at DKK 75.00.

”The new amount limits provide new opportunities and I do not doubt that Danes to a large extent will embrace the opportunities and buy services and goods via the mobile phone. The demand for buying via the mobile phone is increasing and it is probably only a matter of a few years before a new amount limit adjustment is needed”, Peter Bredgaard says.

Subscribers must be informed
Among the other elements in the framework agreement, it will now be possible to draw up continuous subscriptions – however with the demand that the customer is informed at every appraisal by a sms including information about price and cancellation method. With regards to mobile payments at fund raisings, the maximum amount is maintained.
