The portal server facilitates the creation and delivery of simple mobile campaign sites in addition to large and complex mobile portals with multiple integration points. It detects and profiles the device of each individual end-user, and ensures that your contents are optimised for the mark-up languages required, e.g. through on-the-fly image scaling.

Open and flexible XML data input
The Unwire portal server transforms contents in XML format into the right design for each individual handset. This means that Unwire’s customers can implement dynamic portal contents through frequently updated feeds (e.g. XML or RSS news feeds) in one standard format. The portal server instantly transforms it to fit every individual handset accessing the portal.

Device specific page rendering
Since the portal server is integrated with the Unwire device detection system, all characteristics and capabilities of each end-user’s mobile phone are automatically recognized. As a result, the portal contents are rendered on-the-fly, and immediately delivered to the specific handset for individual adaptation.

Automatic end-user recognition
Through integration with the Unwire gateway it is possible to enable an automatic identification of each of the mobile phone numbers of the individual users accessing the mobile site. Such knowledge can be utilized for adapting the site to the specific end-user, as well as gathering detailed information about the users’ behaviour in general.

Extensive plug-in library
The portal server comes with a library of plug-ins allowing direct integration to other Unwire service platforms as well as third party applications for presentation of different types of contents. Using portal plug-ins makes it simple to include dynamic or interactive contents from other systems on the mobile portal, such as polls, news articles, images, download or streaming contents.

Online interface for managing portals
The portal editor is included in the Unwire portal server framework. The editor helps to create and edit the mobile sites through an intuitive web-based graphical user interface.
