The mobile phone is shifting from being primarily a voice communication tool, to becoming a key personal communication platform, enabling the owner to be always well informed – always in touch – always accessible. The Nordic countries have a well known reputation for an advanced use of mobile phones.

Background
Unwire was established in 1999 and is today market leader within mobile solutions in Scandinavia. As a company based in the Nordic region, Unwires role is – in cooperation with our customers and the mobile operators – to develop the future mobile services.

Unwire has build a comprehensive service platform directly connected to all Mobile Network Operators in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Faroe Islands and Greenland. Furthermore, Unwire is cooperating with international partners to cover the rest of Europe and the United States. Unwire today has close to 100 employees of which 75 are based in Denmark. 2008

• Unwire is granted Storstockholm Linietrafik SMS tickets
• Unwire wins SMS ticket system in Greater Copenhagen
• Unwire is chosen as partner for the new TDC Fly portal
• Employee number 95 onboard

2007

• LD Equity becomes majority shareholder of Unwire
• Unwire wins Telia & Ericsson award
• Introduction of the new TV and Live Streaming Platform
• Introduction of The Portal Editor Platform
• Introduction of 3G Video Portal Platform
• Reached 75 employees

2006

• Unwire wins the Danish E-commerce award (E-handelsprisen)
• Introduction of new 2.x of Mobile CMS with new advanced capabilities
• Office opened in Oslo, Norway
• Reached 60 employees 

2005

• Moved to new offices in Copenhagen
• Office opened in Stockholm, Sweden
• Office opened in Kiev, Ukraine
• Reached 40 employees

2004

• Introduction of TV/Streaming and CMS in The Unwire Platform
• Extended billing capabilities in Norway and Finland
• Reached 20 employees

2003

• Introduction of Messaging and Portals in The Unwire Platform
• Introduction of WAP billing across all operators in Denmark and Sweden
